In order to avoid high fees associated with a septic tank replacement, keeping up with regular maintenance is key. To keep your septic system in working order, we recommend scheduling an inspection service with our qualified technicians every three to five years.

What happens during a septic tank inspection?

A septic tank inspection is performed in order to determine the physical integrity of the tank and whether or not the leach field is in working order. When they arrive, one of our licensed inspectors will open your septic tank and do a visual scan of the interior, most often performing pump maintenance on the tank as well, unless it has already recently been pumped.

How long will my septic system last?

Generally, an average septic tank system will continue working anywhere from twenty to fifty years if properly and regularly maintained. It is often recommended to avoid having a garbage disposal if you have a septic system; this is due to the fact that solids from the tank can end up in the leach field, which will reduce the overall lifetime of your unit.

How can I make my septic tank last longer?

The best way to extend the lifespan of your septic tank system is to avoid flushing items down the drain that will impair your unit’s functioning. For example, flushing things like medications, chemicals, and anti-freeze will destroy the bacteria within your tank and negatively impact the septic system. Materials like baby wipes, tampons, and paper towels should also be disposed of separately.

Don’t hesitate to schedule your regular septic tank inspection – it’s vital to the well-being of your property and household. Our TCEQ-certified technicians will perform our septic tank inspection services with reliable expertise.
